I found this old photo I had taken of Tina who was the daughter of our Ina dog. I rue the day I gave her to my Brother.

I told him specifically to bring Tina back to me if he could not keep her. His wife wanted her so badly and I gave in and let them take her.

When I asked about Tina about a month later he said, "O I gave her away." talk about a huge boo hoo. Lesson learned.

I still have the petrified wood she is standing next too. I think I will sell it on Art Fire since every time I look at it I think about Tina. Bro if you are reading this I love ya but BOO on you.

HomeAgain™ PetRescuers Member Guide

As a HomeAgain PetRescuer, there are quick, easy steps you can take to ensure the safety and welfare of a lost pet. If you are comfortable approaching the pet, first check for forms of identification. If the owner's contact information is on the tag, call the owner immediately and tell them the location of their pet.

If there is no owner contact information available (or if you cannot reach the owner), call 1-888-HOME-AGAIN (888-466-3242) to report the found pet to the HomeAgain Proactive Pet Recovery Network. HomeAgain dispatchers will help guide you through the process of reporting and reuniting a lost pet with his or her owner.

You are not required to approach the pet or take it into your home or yard. If you decide to take a pet into your care, here are some suggestions:

1. Segregate the pet from your other animals.

2. Provide food and water.

3. Check for signs of injury.

4. Monitor the pet's activity periodically while he/she remains with you.

HOW SMART IS YOUR RIGHT FOOT?

You have to try this. It takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this!!! It is from an orthopedic surgeon............ This will boggle your mind and you will keep you trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's preprogrammed in your brain!

1. Without anyone watching you (they will think you are GOOFY......) and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.

And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

Twilight Lipstick Seniors

Yesterday my Mother, who is 76, came and sat with me in the courtyard. We had a wonderful conversation and laughed together. She sipped from her straw which is perpetually connected and glued to her hand a diet drink, and attached to her hip is a cell phone. I am forever begging her not to drink diet soda as it is toxic, she ignores me and changes the subject.

The subject of our discussion with much reminiscing turned to a book I had just purchased for my niece, The Period Book by Karen Gravelle. Our laughs, smirks and shared giggles revolved around Menstruation, the ritual and power of it, and led to a fun conversation about childbirth.

When Mom decided it was time to go and was walked to her car I kissed her on the cheek, held her and told her I loved her. She started to drive off and stopped, rolling down her window she hollered back at me to come over. I walked up to the window and she said, "give me another kiss I love you so much.".

It was then that I noticed my Mother no longer wore her bright red Channel lipstick, but had a wonderful shimmery pink shade on. I thanked her for the lipstick smear and she laughed.

And, you know - i thought when did that happen? Where have I been that I just now noticed Mother had changed her war paint? And, I also thought when have I ever seen my Mom without lipstick? As I thought back I could not remember a time that my Mom did not at the minimum have lipstick on.

I thought of how my Mother is forever visiting the sick, other Seniors, playing Taxi, and the never ending asking, "What can I do for you today?" I thought back to when this began, and once again I could not remember a time Mom was not helping others. She has forever been feeding , clothing, giving money away, and even giving others a place to stay.

And, I cried, then I wept for joy and I am so grateful this Woman gave birth to me, that I came from such a soul.

Boys will be boys

My youngest step-son used to drag home to me skulls and bones and shed snake skins. You would not believe some of the items this kid brought home! He went through a period where he collected bones and skulls from the woods, and surrounding areas, this was one of those items. I always wanted to bead it, or make a rattle with it, but never got to her. So I have it listed on Art Fire.
